First Trip to the Fair

Michael and I have decided that every Saturday we are doing a fun family event outside of the home. I feel like some weeks the boys and I never leave. We have done it for the last two weeks and it has been wonderful. This Saturday we hit up the zoo and then ventured out to the fair. We had a blast at the zoo. We went early when it was cool and had few other visitors. Jaxon got to play on the slide and the little animals and show daddy all of his favorite animals. Xander liked seeing the animals too and was especially aware of all the sounds they were making. Here are some pictures of the zoo...

Jaxon loves the giraffes

This is Jaxon's smile. He thinks it is so funny to not smile for me....he's quite the character.

After the zoo and a nap, we went to the Western Idaho Fair. We hit up the tractors (Jax is obsessed with tractors), then all the animals, rides, and lastly the petting zoo. The tractors were cool. They had quite a few new ones that Jaxon got to sit on and then a ton of old tractors that he wanted so bad to sit on. As we were leaving the tractors, a couple of them were being moved and he thought that was great. The animals were a little overwhelming to him, but loved them when he was carried. He absolutely loves animals in his books and toys, but when they were double his size in real life and I think that was a little scary. Once he was picked up he loved it. We saw the cows being washed and groomed, pigs sleeping, goats being shown, sheep making noise, and roosters crowing. Roosters have been his favorite lately, but they were his least favorite. They were a ton of them and were very loud. He did like the turkeys though because they made their funny noises. Jaxon and I then went on two rides. He was tall enough to ride on the train and the flying elephants with me. He loved them when we were done, but had to check it all out while we were on them. As most of you know, Jaxon has to figure everything out so it was very typical. On the way out we found the petting zoo and the kids got to pet all the animals. Xander loved touching the animals. Jaxon loved the animals too and actually really liked the roosters in the petting zoo probably because there were lots fewer and not as much noise. Here are some pictures from the fair....

Don't worry this was at the petting zoo. We felt it must be safe. Xander thought it was cool.

This was the poor goat that chose to come up to Jaxon. I think it got it's ear pulled. Jaxon isn't the softest. Xander loving the goats. He got the biggest kick out of them.

He seriously thought he was so cool and was looking to see who was all looking at him. He is a fruit...he cracks me up. See...here is my sweet little serious Jax sitting on the train.

Jaxon and I on the flying elephants. He really liked these and thought it was so cool they were flying, but again didn't crack a smile until we were getting off.
